The Goals and Content

Acquiring the power and influence to manage change in our organizations, at home, or just for ourselves is often an uphill battle requiring considerable personal power and influence. Accordingly, The Power Lab at Airlie House focuses on developing our ability to consciously manage our beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and behavior-conscious use of self. By doing so, we can discover and access the enormous power that is inherently ours, begin to put and end to the myriad ways we disempower ourselves, and learn how to create the support we need to accomplish our goals and our dreams.

In the program you will:

  • Discover within yourself the power to accomplish your organizational and personal change goals.
  • Learn how to create support systems needed for personal and organizational change.
  • Move toward mastery of seven transformative disciplines of change management defined by Broom and Edie and Charlie Seashore at Johns Hopkins University.
  • Work with differences so that they become sources of learning and synergy rather than sources of adversity and hostility.
  • Play win/win while influencing others to support you and your goals.
  • Empower others to improve their performance on behalf of organizational and personal goals.
  • Remove the stress of power struggles from your relationships at work and your personal life and prevent unwanted power abuse.

What They're Saying

"…I leave each session stretched, intellectually, practically, and emotionally. Even when I am inclined to "play it safe," it is difficult to do so, as the program offers me the chance to leap for the ring."
